Enjoy better golf with our professional golf coaching

Game Improvement

Golf coaching is all about you and what you want to get out of your game. We pride ourselves on being good listeners and aim to provide the best possible professional advice, whilst ensuring each lesson is tailored and enjoyable for the golfer. Here at the County Louth (Baltray) Golf Club Pro Shop and with our team of PGA Professional you will be treated as an individual and we'll help you get what you need.

Why Coaching?

We’re passionate about helping you play better golf.

Every golfer enjoys the game more when they’re hitting good shots and playing well. This is our mission for you.

Think back to your last few rounds and try to pinpoint an area that cost you shots…

Maybe, you had too many three-putts as a result of poor distance control? Or did you miss too many fairways to the right meaning you had to chip out sideways? It could be that you play well in practice rounds with your friends but struggle to replicate that in competitions?

Through our experiences in the game and our PGA education, we appreciate that every golfer is different. That’s why we offer a range of lessons and packages to suit everyone.

Lessons will cover:

  • Golf Fundamentals
  • Swing Basics
  • Short Game
  • Long Game
  • Course Management

Jamie Leech - PGA Assistant Professional

Hi there, My name is Jamie Leech or some of you know me as Millar. I’m currently undergoing my PGA training to become a fully qualified Golf professional. I’ve been a member of County Louth Golf Club since 2013, over that time as a member of the golf club I have been Junior captain in 2017 and have taken part in many club team events. Starting the PGA journey was a real exciting feeling as it has been a dream of mine to work in the golf industry so turning Pro and playing in PGA events last year was a completely different ball game to playing in your weekly competition, in which the first year I felt nervous every time I stood on the first tee, so this year and hopefully progressing into the future I will go into every event with an abundance of confidence. Having good short game areas and the development of junior coaching is an integral part of my PGA journey as I feel these areas can really help you process massively into becoming a better coach and also the further progress of your PGA journey. A goal for me this year is to boost my social media presence to provide golfers with different tips, tricks and other golf related information to help them progress their golf game.

David O Brien - PGA Assistant Professional

Hi my name is David O Brien. I am a PGA assistant here at County Louth Golf Club. I started golf when I was 12, playing out of Laytown Bettystown Golf Club. From the moment I started I fell in love with the game and became addicted to improving and learning from others. Throughout this time I was lucky enough to be involved in a great junior program which saw strong success. I now plan to bring this passion into my career and showcase the knowledge I have learned throughout the years. My main aim as a PGA professional is to cater to all levels of golfer and aid improvement in their own games but ultimately get people enjoying the game that we all love. Every year I set out goals and this year is no different. Firstly, I want my clients to see improvements in their games while enjoying this process. By the use of my skills and the access to the advanced technology we have, I believe that I can add value to our members. Secondly, I want to help create a striving junior program at the club. This will involve being available at all times to juniors in the club and creating an environment where they can learn and enjoy the game. A personal goal of mine is to be competitive in my own game. This year I want to compete on the region and aim to have my game sharp for the start of the season. Finally, continual learning is something that is very important to me and I plan to take every opportunity to learn from the people around me and others within the space. This will allow me to provide a better product year on year to the members of County Louth Golf Club and the surrounding area. I look forward to the year ahead and what it will bring.

Jack Kane - PGA Assistant Professional

Hi my name is Jack Kane, I’m a first year PGA assistant at County Louth golf club. I grew up playing my golf at Dungannon golf club in Tyrone. I have played golf from age six and it has always been a great love of mine. My goals are to complete my PGA and venture into the coaching and fitting world; I’m already an experienced fitter and am very interested in the modern technology and helping people find clubs that suit their game best to bring them to the next level. Along with my own knowledge on the golf swing and what I’m learning through the PGA course I believe being able to coach and develop a players golf swing while also making sure they are using the equipment best suited to them, will therefore allow them to bring their game up to the best version of what it can be. I also am very keen to grow the game and bring it to all children and make it as inclusive and fun as possible to help children develop the love for the game. I believe working in County Louth is going to be a great experience and I hope to meet plenty of people along the way and help as many people improve and enjoy their game as much as possible. For more news of what I’m up to and plans going forward this season you can find me on my Instagram See link below Click here
