The 2018 Round Up
It’s that time when we start looking back at the season just gone and think about what might have been and what could be in the future. I am a great believer that all the hard work on your golf should be done in the off season so that you can hit next season running. That is also the case with buying new clubs, wedges, putters, getting re-grips as you want to be comfortable with everything that you have when the season kicks off. Coaching is probably the biggest thing to get right as this is the time to really address little or big faults in your game and be ready to move forward. Lessons are available through out the week, just phone the shop as my diary is always there. On the course Stephen is really starting to get to grips with the season that has just passed us by. You can probably see the lines on the fairways where he has had to seed to stimulate the growth. Over the last week you can see the growth coming back and hopefully the course will return to its best for our future enjoyment. It has been hard, but hopefully all will be good ahead. This time last year we had just got over the autumn storms but did not realize the weather that lay ahead of us for the next 5 months….Hopefully it is a winter to enjoy our golf course. The group lessons for the ladies have finished now until the New Year when we will start up a new spring program. The 7 weeks we have just gone through have been super and I would like to thank all for their attendance and enthusiasm on the range. Hopefully you will get a lot out of the lessons for the period ahead. Junior lessons have now stopped at the normal time but will be on at 3.45 on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting after half term on 6th November. They will be on Saturdays as well at 1pm. Please book in the shop and if you cannot show up please let us know as others will be waiting. I would like to thank all the parents that genuinely show an interest and spend the time out on the range with the juniors, you can really see the way the juniors are progressing. In a lot of cases the only time some of the juniors are hitting balls or putting is when they come to the lessons. Golf is so different to other sports and if your juniors are in this bracket they really are not getting out of the coaching what they should be getting.
I would ask that in between lessons parents take the time to take them to the range or green or even play a few holes. I realize that there are so many other activities going on and this can be hard, but it is essential.
