Course work update For those of you that have ventured out in the recent cold weather I am sure you have seen the work that has been going on out on the course. Stephen has been re-shaping the second fairway to try to avoid the balls constantly running to a poor lie, with the tee shot making the playability so much easier for the approach shot to the green for the majority of players. On the 3rd hole the tee shot has been softened with a much larger landing area created just to the left of the tee. These changes are designed to make the start of the course more playable and get people into their round much quicker and easier. Hopefully the results will really kick into action as the season moves in. The rough has been completely removed in many of the troublesome areas with the view to it re-growing in a much lighter manner, more in line with the needs of a modern day Links course. Removing this grass allows the ground to dry out, firming up the ground and returning the fast running conditions that we all want going forward. Patience is key to this, but there has been a definite change in playing conditions over the last few seasons and hopefully this will continue going forward.
