On the Course... Don't forget it is our president's, Mr Donal Branigan, prize to the ladies this Saturday, as well as a men’s fourball. The ladies have their match with Sutton on Sunday in the receive fourball and all support would be greatly appreciated. All the sheets are now up for open week which is creeping up on us so don’t miss out as there is a lot of golf to be played over this week. During the open week we will be running an extra little competition for a two at any hole other than a par three. I know that it can be a bit of a punt, but it happens, be it a long drive and a putt from a low handicapper or a scuttled 5-wood that bounces of the bank and bounds into the hole. Normal entry into the twos comp cover this and I will be giving a M2 driver at the end of the week for anyone that achieves this, but remember you have to be in the twos on the day it happens to be in with a chance of winning. The South of Ireland Amateur Championship started yesterday in Lahinch and the golfers got the first taste of what we were used to before this season….heavy wind and rain. It is something that we have not seen a lot of, but it is always on our mind as golfers in Ireland. On the back of this you should always be ready for these conditions with the needy goods of mittens, waterproof hats, weather gloves, wooly beanies etc, the list goes on. This stock will be re-appearing in the shop in the next week not just in preparation for the winter, but also included in our mid-season sale, a great time to buy for the warm winter ahead |
