Greetings golfers, 

It's really turned cold, winter is upon us, but the days are getting longer and it's really time to look forward to the season ahead. The golf club is moving into a new era with the board of management now full steam ahead with the development of the new business plan and a new intake of members bringing us right up to full membership. It is a great time to be a member of Laytown and Bettystown, and hopefully things will keep getting better. 

The Captains Drive In will take place next Saturday 18th February and this will be a day to remember for both captains and their families so please come along and support this event. Hopefully the weather will be kind to welcome in the golfing years for both Denis and Susan and we wish them all the best.

In the shop we are right in between seasons but are stocked for all times of the year. We have most of the new hardware in for the season and have our first demo day arranged for 10th March with PING. We have 2 spaces left on this day and the new PING clubs look excellent for the year coming in. We have a full demo set of PING ladies G Le in the shop for trail, these have proved to be the best product for ladies in the last few years holding the majority share of the ladies gold market in all areas. The new I200 irons have hit the shops with a bang and has been an immediate hit in our shop.

The PING Fitting Day is FREE for a full fit on course so if you are interested please book in for the day. Even on that day if you just wish to come out and hit the products that will be ok as well as there will one of us out there to help. The deals to be done on that day will be great and it will run from 2-6pm.

What really is happening in the golf trade at this moment….not a huge amount. After the quick product launches from Callaway and TaylorMade anything else this year will simply be facelifts. There is a new ball in the Callaway Chrome series that has proved so popular over the last few seasons. The 2017 Chrome balls will be retailing everywhere else at €45 but we will be retailing them all year at €40 or 2 dozen for €70.

Over the next few weeks the spring summer clothing and shoes will drop and we will keep you informed on all. Saying that we still have great deals on the present stock of shoes etc that all come with full guarantees, even at prices that are up to 50% OFF retail.

 

The ladies and junior golf coaching will be at the normal times next week and we will be back hitting full golf shots having worked on the short game for the past few weeks. It has been really cold out on the range so please get the juniors wrapped up as warm as you can.
