Pros news

As the clocks change this weekend the shop is well and truly ready for the winter period ahead as we can really start to feel the air changing as each day goes by. This time of the year can be seen as the end of the season but in many cases it is a chance to reflect and get started for the new season ahead of us, the winter time to get ready and the spring summer to be ready and perform.

On the back of this, this tends to be the busiest season for new product and news of new product for the year ahead. Titleist 917 has arrived in full in our shop and we are doing an opening offer that just will not be seen anywhere else. This club is everything that you would expect, regarding looks and performance and surely a must for any avid golf fan. Titleist market themselves on being serious clubs for serious players, which at times can be misunderstood. A serious player does not necessarily mean a scratch player, but can refer to a player of any ability.

Titleist like any of the companies out there produce product for all players abilities, so if you fancy a change, feel free to take one of these new hot heads out for a test drive over the coming weeks.

It could be top of your Christmas list!

We have a large stock of irons in store, and an overstock of Cobra, Callaway and PING irons, both nearly new and brand new. These are included in the present sale items in the shop so ask for price for an early Christmas spend cause when they go they go, there will not be the same available at these prices for quite a while. We have brand new Callaway and Cobra irons starting at €390 and the very latest PING irons starting at €499 against an RRP of €999, mens graphite regular. We also have a few sets of the latest G irons at an unbelievable price of €620, only as stocks last. If you want to reserve a set for Xmas please let us know as we will take a deposit and hold them. There are the latest Cobra irons in stock as well all of which are available to demo before purchase.

It is hard to know what is on the horizon, as TaylorMade this week will announce their new product to the trade for 2017, this following the highly successful sea on with M1 and M2, I do believe rightly or wrongly that they simply cannot repeat what they have achieved this year and a purchase on the current product will more than live up to your driving needs in the coming season.

With Brexit and the US elections looming there has been much movement in the currency market and this will reflect short term in real value in ours and many retail outlets. We are currently in the middle of a sale in the shop and if you have been in this week you will see many items reduced dramatically as end of season product. We also have many of the upcoming season products on sale as well with 30% OFF all ladies wind wear that has just come in for the season ahead. We will be adding to our range in next few weeks with fully lined jumpers for men and ladies that will be perfect for the cold days ahead, that might be next June we are talking about, not just the winter period. Winter gloves, mitts and thermal hats are a must at this time of the year, especially lately with the trend in pairs of gloves as these allow you to keep playing without having to take them off keeping your grip on the club perfect for the entire round. Come in and try on a pair, you won't want to take them off if you are heading out to play. At €25 these could be your lifeline for a great enjoyable round ahead. We also have winter snoods and mittens to compliment the above, and don't forget the hand warmers, always in stock from now till at least Easter.

Don't forget this weekend sees the Captains Dinner on Saturday night in the clubhouse at 8pm so it is still not too late if you would like to come and support this event to celebrate Michael's year as Captain. I for one would like to thank him for all the support he has shown me and the welcome that I have enjoyed in my short spell so far at the club. Next Friday 4th sees our Junior Captains Dinner. Open to all juniors and their parents, friends and family, for more information please contact the shop. There will be a prize giving for all the junior events which will be hosted by Des Smyth and it will promise to be a great night for all concerned. There will be a junior scramble starting at 10.30 am and the more we can get the better the day will be, let's hope that mother nature smiles kindly on the closing day of our junior season.

Next week the clocks will have changed and we will all be burrowed in for the winter, or will we……there is an exciting winter ahead for the shop, coaching and the club both on the course and the clubhouse. Don't put the clubs away, come out and play.
