Greetings golfers,
Next week we will be having our end of year clearance sale starting on Friday 21st October and running until we run out of Sale stock. There will be a clearance on: golf shoes, club jumpers and t-Shirts, sets of irons, drivers, fairways, the list just goes on and on. We will also have on display a lot of the new season and winter stock that will keep the golf going over the winter for all players. In this period between 21st and the end of month we will be taking orders at a discounted price on Christmas products that you think you will need for the season ahead.
The weather has certainly changed in the last week with a real chill in the air and we are well prepared for the cold days ahead. We are fully stocked on thermal wear for men and ladies and all our winter accessories should be in the shop by next weekend as well. Gone are the days of getting totally wrapped up so that you can hardly move, as technology has moved on, layering has become the buzz word around winter and cold weather golf. You can now retain all heat without being restricted in movement with the new thermal golf layers, so come in and talk to us about this technology. The traditional roll neck is still a very popular piece but is becoming more and more replaced with compression and skin wear. It has also been well documented that in between layers there should be a lot of room to allow the heat to circulate and be retained within the garments rather than having everything tight against each other.
The compression skin is very undersold and misunderstood as on first fitting it can give you a feeling of restriction due to its fit. This has two man functions, to act a second skin restricting wind and cold air, while at the same time through its compression properties helps the blood to circulate easier throughout the area of wear. It works in the same way as a compressions stocking that have become very popular to help poor circulation by supporting the veins and arteries. After you get used to the feel and performance of such a product it will be the first thing that you look for when going out on a cold day.
We also have a full range of winter hats in stock with many more on the way. Also we have an overstock of winter mitts that will be on clearance next weekend while stock last. There will also be a full range of thermal gloves available for men and ladies from Mizuno, new into the shop, these can be a real must.
As the winter progresses we will be using this newsletter to keep you informed of all plans for next year and all new equipment. As this season starts to draw to a close we are already looking forward to next season where hopefully the shop will only get better. This has been a great start to my time at the club and I would like to thank all the members that have made my move so easy from Ardee and I have felt so welcome at the club. It is a very exciting time to be involved in this great club, with the possibility of new management structures and the potential prospect of changes to what is already an excellent golf course.
One bit of bad news is that Evan is leaving the shop at the end of this month to take up a position at his father's company. Evan will be badly missed as he has become a very important member of my shop and if any of you can convince him to stay in the next few weeks, please do.
There will not be any ladies lessons next Wednesday as I not here but will have one more session before Halloween on Wednesday 26th October at 11am.
The junior lessons are continuing on a Tuesday and Thursday from 5.30-6.30 for try next few weeks then we will be moving them to Saturdays and Sundays, depending on the weather of course as it can be very cold out on the range. We do have nice little range of junior fleeces and hats in the shop and will be getting more warm weather gear for the kids in the next few weeks.
Don't forget the Captain's Dinner, Mr Michael Delany, on 29th October and tickets are available in the office so please come along and support this end of year event. Also there is information available in the shop on the proposed new management structure relating to the upcoming EGM so please take a leaflet when you are coming in and out.
