Greetings golfers,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the members for the extremely warm welcome that I have received at Laytown and Bettystown golf club. I feel so privileged to have been appointed to the position of club professional at the club and look forward to many years ahead that I can repay the trust that the club have placed in me to this post. Bobby's reputation for coaching was second to none and his success over the years brought great respect to the club and the members and I look forward to furthering and enhancing the clubs standing in Irish golf over the coming years. 

By this stage many of you will have met myself, Aaron and Evan, and come into the shop to both wish us well and also see what we have to offer. The shop will develop greatly over the coming months so please come in and ask for anything that you need. If we can sort it out we will, we will not be beaten on price on anything, and if I don't have something in the shop I should be able to get it quite quickly. We are still trying to get all routines and systems in place but bit by bit this is sorting itself out so please be patient with us, but also feel free to wind us up when we mess up! 

Over the next few weeks I will be clearing out a lot of overstock of stock so come in and have a look. We will have some unbelievable deals on clothing and clubs starting this weekend. Will keep you all up to date with offers each week on this newsletter and through our Facebook page. Recent Competition Results..   

St Patrick Day Competitions: Sponsored by the Tennis club the open singles was won by Eoghan Power and the open mixed foursomes were won by Denis Taylor and Carol Wickham. The Medal results for March, sponsored by an anonymous member, was won by Ronan Maguire, and April's monthly Medal sponsored by Homestore (Oliver O'Sullivan) was won by Dan Hughes. Congratulations to all winners and sponsors.

This Bank Holiday..

We have a busy bank holiday weekend ahead of us with 3 full days of competitions. Saturday 30th April, open Mens singles and Mixed Foursomes (stableford), Sunday 1st May open Mens Singles V-Par and Monday 2nd May is an open Mens Fourball. The time sheets are filling up so don't miss out as the weather is start to warm up.

One final note in case you hadn't heard, the JB Carr team had a great victory last week….the team pulled through despite their star player being 6 up with 8 to play and lost……Chris Black has been in telling us about the killer instinct of the opposition that day.

 

Our Summer Term Junior Coaching will start on Tuesday 3rd May at 5.30pm and 6.30pm and will also be on Thursday at 5.30 and 6.30pm and Saturday at 1pm and 2pm. Cost will be 5 euro per session per child and we will be starting on the putting green for the first week. We will be covering a different aspects of the game each week so there is no need to come more than once each week, although no problem if you want to, you are more than welcome. Come into shop to register each night/afternoon before the sessions. 

Ladies in golf lessons will start the first session on Monday 9th May at 7pm and 8pm. To register interest please contact the office.
